Membership
There is no fee to join a club. You join now and are only charged when wine ships to you. We offer two clubs: the Yacht Club, which sends three bottles every month or every two months for $115 a shipment with shipping included, and Prix Fixe, which sends twelve bottles quarterly with shipping included on orders of $100 or more. Membership value comes from the wines and the perks, not from a discount.
Your card is charged shortly before each shipment. The amount is the shipment price described for your club, plus any applicable tax. Because wine is a natural product and the lineup changes with each release, the exact total can vary from shipment to shipment, and we will tell you the amount before we charge you.
Membership continues until you cancel. Both clubs ask that you receive at least two shipments before cancelling. After that you may cancel at any time from your account, or in writing to info@carboniste.com. Cancellations and address changes need to reach us at least two weeks before a scheduled ship date to apply to that shipment. If a shipment has already gone out before we receive your cancellation, you are responsible for that final shipment.
You must be 21 or older to order and to receive a shipment. An adult signature is required on delivery, so we recommend shipping to a business address. We cannot deliver to a PO box.
Shipping
Shipping is included on Prix Fixe club orders of $100 or more, shipped within the continental United States. We are unable to ship wine to Alaska, Delaware, Rhode Island, or Utah. If a shipment is returned to us, you may be responsible for additional restocking or reshipping costs, as described in the failed delivery policy below.
Weather holds
Wine is perishable. We do not ship during periods of extreme heat or cold, or when we believe there is a high risk of spoilage. To avoid weekend exposure, we make every effort to send ground shipments on Mondays, two-day shipments by Tuesday, and overnight shipments by Wednesday.
You may choose to override a weather hold, but we cannot accept returns for wine that spoils after being shipped against our recommendation. Your card is charged at the time of fulfillment, which happens before a hold decision is made. In some cases we can reroute a held shipment to faster service or hold it for pickup. During the hottest and coldest stretches of the year we may ship by second-day delivery, at no additional cost to you, to the areas most affected.
We do everything we can to make sure your wine arrives in the same condition it left the winery. We cannot control what happens in transit, so if you believe a bottle arrived damaged, contact us right away and we will make it right.
Failed delivery and return to sender
Because wine requires an adult signature (21 or older) by federal law, the following applies to all shipments. Our carrier will make three delivery attempts. If no adult is available to sign after the third attempt, the package is returned to the winery.
If a shipment is returned because of missed deliveries, an incorrect or incomplete address, or a refusal, the following non-refundable costs are deducted from any refund: the original outbound shipping cost, even when shipping was included on the order; the carrier return-to-sender fee; and a 20 percent restocking and inspection fee that covers return processing and a quality check for heat or pressure damage.
If you would like us to ship a returned order a second time, you are responsible for the new outbound shipping plus the carrier return fee. We are glad to set aside the 20 percent restocking fee when an order is reshipped rather than refunded.
To avoid these costs, we recommend shipping to a business address, where an adult is usually available to sign, or asking the carrier to hold your wine for pickup at a nearby location.
Sales tax
Shipments to certain states are subject to state sales tax. Void where prohibited by law.
WARNING: Drinking distilled spirits, beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages may increase cancer risk, and cause birth defects if consumed during pregnancy.
